We set up Our Friend's House when we couldn't find the type of schooling we wanted for our children. We grew Our Friend's House to 12 children withing 6 weeks, operating 3 days a week under the guidance of a full time teacher in our converted loft space. It was designed to compliment homeschooling, not fully replace it. Home schooling is an extremely challenging task to undertake, so should you wish to benefit from our experiences, resources and understand more about how to set something up yourself, please contact us to arrange some consultancy at info@ourfriendshouse.co.uk. This website has been edited to remove much of the content that we produced, but we wanted to leave a memory so didn't remove it completely. Good luck with educating your children. If you're not sure where to start, we suggest you begin here to ensure you're ready to try something different, https://www.ted.com/speakers/sir_ken_robinson.
In 2016 we relocated to East Sussex and Our Friend's House was sadly closed with many tears from us and all the wonderful teachers, support staff, parents and children who were involved. To this day it continues to be one on our most special and memorable achievements to date and set our children up to be confident, inquisitive, empathetic and to approach life and learning in a positive way.
